In the mountains high above Sestriere, when the ski lifts are not operating, you can ride up on dirt roads and experience the early summer solitude near Lago Nero.






This set of trails is a story of chapels and old chalets in the surroundings of Bardonecchia
Above our rented flat for the week, the mountain roads and trails take you to a variety of military installations including Forte Foëns, which was barely accessible by foot due to some damaged roads – bikers and cyclists would already have their problems, which obviously influenced my choice of routes in the following days.
We returned to Bardonecchia, this time with the full family and all equipment, to do some hiking, exploring and motorbiking as well. Today, though, we went for a rather relaxed stroll to encounter some macro stuff.
Polar lights in Switzerland – a rare but recently somewhat more typical occurrence due to solar flare activity. This one was taken at one of my favorite places in the immediate surroundings on top of a Jura mountain chain with a solitary tree.
Wonderful weather to get the cherry trees blossom in my own garden. Fingers crossed they will fruit.
During a quick business trip to Basel I took the opportunity of the sunset at the right time for me to get some dynamic mainstation square shots near Aeschengraben.
