Frozen morning on Schafmatt
While we woke up to a grey foggy morning like many others before, others woke up to an icy frozen fairytale world just a bit up the road.
Wisner Flue fog flight
This flight out of the fog and into the sunset does not need any more words. What an evening!
Hohe Winde peak
One of the peaks in the Solothurn Jura mountains that is well above 1’000 meters above sea level, Hohe Winde is a popular but easy and short hike from Scheltenpass road pass. It made for a nice, easy afternoon out.
Foggy flights in fall
When you wind your way down from Chilchzimmersattel pass (Oberbelchen), just before reaching the town of Langenbruck, you pass the old monastery of Schönthal. When the fog then comes rolling in, you have a perfect Saturday evening composition.

Jura chain flights
Color and fog add to the scenery of the Jura mountain chains between three cantons – Solothurn, Jura and Bern in the remote areas of Balmberg, Seehof and Scheltenpass.

Autumn regional trip
Autumn seems in full swing and even here in Northwestern Switzerland every now and then the sun comes out and adds some nice color. While the roads where still wet, the 1200 GS coped well and I took some shots… on a new device, too!

Side trip to Munich
in awful weather, so five layers of clothing for the bike ride in the park and into the city center, as any other form of transport obviously was not an option. On the pro side, very few folks in the “English Garden” and the October autumn scenery at least on picture actually does not look that bad, since you can’t really feel how wet it was.
Limestone craters
For the third time this trip to Gstaad, I ascended to Trütlisberg pass. This time I did not just venture out a bit towards the next valley at Lenk to then return to the origin, but actually am on route on a one-way ride all the way to Zweisimmen.
What a good decision, as otherwise I would have missed the fantastic scenery of Gryden karst landscape full of limestone craters and sinkholes which look and sometimes feel quite dramatic to traverse on a mountain bike. And the encounter with a long distance mountain runner also taking videos with her drone helped me to get some footage which I would have otherwise been unable to take. Thanks for that!
