A windy day. A day with many changes in plans. Cancellations and rebookings. More time in Myvatn. Well, we have to take what Iceland has to offer, even in best sunshine there can be problems.
Original plan: Drive Sprengisandur and another F-Road to Askja and then to Sigurdarskali mountain hut.
Original plan abandoned: After 40 km on Sprengisandur at Aldeyjarfoss, due to the heavy wind, we were first unsure, then called a ranger hut further along Sprengisandur and based on their weather report decided to return to Myvatn and leave out the central Highland for the moment.
New plan: Spend one more day at Myvatn, then use one additional day in the Eastfjords (which turned out to be a very good decision, more in the next few days).
