Halema’uma’u lava lake

This is where my unexpected trip led me, and also the rationale why I went – Kilauea is active more than ever, with the lava lake directly visible from the Jaggar museum overlook at Crater Rim Drive inside Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park. Early morning with clear views, and Pele is taking her morning steam bath!
