Spending an evening observing how the color of the fields, the horizon, the sky and the trees changes before, during and after sunset is quite an inspiring thing to do.

Aargau Jura sunset
In a rural corner of Aargau canton along the rolling Jura hills, spent an evening in late spring waiting for the sun to set.
Mountainbike trail to Geissflue peak
It has almost become my home loop as a mountain bike trail, but then again there are so many varieties of trails to choose from that each run is different. What’s almost certain is that it will take me past Challhöchi and Geissflue view points and then I’ll enjoy the single trail down hill and traverse runs to Allerheiligenberg. And almost always there is a fantastic view and if I am lucky a chamois family.

Three-season bike ride
Starting in a very premature summer heat near Jenins, Graubünden, we ascended on our mountain bikes through spring forest and ended in surprisingly deep snow at a time we could not really turn around anymore, fighting our way through a secluded yet difficult to navigate valley.

Mozambique 2020-3
Drone aerials from the cyclone Idai-affected region of Buzi on the Buzi river – about 10 minutes but 3 hours by car from Beira!
Mozambique 2020-2
Trip from Beira in an IFRC Land Cruiser (involving a lengthy wait and a short ferry ride) to one of the most unlikely places I have ever visited, a resettlement camp of immense magnitude and issues, embedded in this pristine nature of the Buzi river.
Mozambique 2020-1
A business trip to conduct a Post-Event Review of the devastating impacts of Cyclones Idai and Kenneth (Report here)
led me to an unexpected part of the world – the city of Beira in Mozambique, Southeast Africa. What an interesting experience.
