Sea of fog

While returning on a fairly complex journey home from COP26, I was at least able to get a few bridge shots.

According to the legend, a rich but stingy farmer was selling skimmed milk but not the butter from it during times of increasing prices – he was waiting to sell the butter at even higher prices. But times improved, prices dropped, and nobody wanted his butter, so it piled up to finally build up Ankenballen – butter peak. This remarkable limestone rock is located near Chilchzimmersattel and near Schöntal monastery.

Late fall with probably close-to-peak colors in the Jura mountains offers a spectacular sunrise. Filmed at Belchenflue peak on the border of Baselland and Solothurn cantons near Langenbruck BL, Eptingen BL and Hägendorf SO.

At night, there is an exceptional view across the Tromso bay from Storsteinen mountain, easily reached by Fjellheisen, the cable car.

From Tromsø, a scenic day drive can take you into Sweden and Finland.
