The standard mountain bike loop at Challhöchi, Wuesthöchi and Allerheiligen turns into a fall color fest during the better days of autumn. Stills taken from 4K video that is still being processed…

Autumn regional trip
Autumn seems in full swing and even here in Northwestern Switzerland every now and then the sun comes out and adds some nice color. While the roads where still wet, the 1200 GS coped well and I took some shots… on a new device, too!

Side trip to Munich
in awful weather, so five layers of clothing for the bike ride in the park and into the city center, as any other form of transport obviously was not an option. On the pro side, very few folks in the “English Garden” and the October autumn scenery at least on picture actually does not look that bad, since you can’t really feel how wet it was.
Jura bike loop in autumn
A few degrees more in temperature and a trifle bit more sunshine would have made a perfect autumn excursion, but even so it was nice – and fewer people on the road made it a more relaxed drive, too.

Limestone craters
For the third time this trip to Gstaad, I ascended to Trütlisberg pass. This time I did not just venture out a bit towards the next valley at Lenk to then return to the origin, but actually am on route on a one-way ride all the way to Zweisimmen.
What a good decision, as otherwise I would have missed the fantastic scenery of Gryden karst landscape full of limestone craters and sinkholes which look and sometimes feel quite dramatic to traverse on a mountain bike. And the encounter with a long distance mountain runner also taking videos with her drone helped me to get some footage which I would have otherwise been unable to take. Thanks for that!
Gsteig and Gstaad
Another quick trip, this time to the Bernese Oberland with Saanen, Gstaad and Gsteig.
View from the hotel towards Saanen Airport and waterfalls on a hiking loop near Gsteig.
Railroad perspectives
From Davos, a famous passage of the Rhaetian Railway leads across the Wiesen viaduct, part of the Davos–Filisur railway section. A practical footpath leads alongside the viaduct to the other side of the Landwasser gorge so hikers can use the viaduct, too, and enjoy the better view from across the gorge.
Davos summer bike, part II
Davos bike, new edition
Mixed weather and mixed opportunities during COVID still enabled a trip up to Chörbschhorn, a nice bike loop trail that does not involve any public transport. Next day, the ambiguous weather forecast meant not too many tourists on the historic train to Wiesen viaduct.
Nachtaufnahmen von Komet C/2020 F3 (Neowise)
After only the 2nd attempt – the first night the thunderstorm clouds did not really disperse fully and hence left a milky shine across the night sky which impeded the visibility to the Northwestern position of the comet – the conditions were almost perfect. Managed to get a series of comet shots from Challhöchi and Chilchzimmersattel locations in the Solothurn Jura mountains, Switzerland.
