We have arrived on O’ahu and are enjoying – with many others – the pros and cons of Waikiki Beach with pricey and not so pricey attractions and activities. The Hilton Hawaiian Village lagoon and beach is nice as always, and the sea is really just the right temperature so we did a few ocean based activities: Snorkeling Hanauma Bay and surfing the waves off Ala Moana Harbor, which gave us a really good sunburn. There is not yet an indication that Hurricane Ignacio is inching closer, although the State of Hawai’i has declared a Hurricane Emergency now. We are monitoring the situation and do hope that Ignacio will pass as much to the north as possible and that Jimena is not following Ignacio.
